Enterhorrorland.com FAQ

I'm going to put together Enterhorrorland.com frequently asked questions - and answers. Bookmark it for reference, I'll be updating it regularly.

1) I completed 2 first maps at enterhorrorland.com - how do I get to next map?

So you wonder why the other maps are still not open, or, say, "how do I get map 3 on enterhorrorland.com" ?

The answer is simple:
The rest of the books from Goosebumps Horrorland series aren't out yet.
Each time a new book is released, its map is opened up on the site. Sometimes (as it was with third book, Goosebumps Horrorland #3 Monster Blood For Breakfast!) map might be available earlier than stated.

2) What were first 2 maps at enterhorrorland?

Map 1: with the living dummy and
Map 2: the creature from the deep

More likely Scholastic's web team realised that so far every HorrorLand book and Classic reprint has been in stores a month earlier than the set release date. Perhaps it was their haste to catch up that led them to release Map 3 before it had actually been completed - it was several days before it was fixed. (And let's not forget that EscapeHorrorLand's May 1st update wasn't posted 'til the 12th.) Everything was pretty smooth up until this month, though, so maybe they just had a backlog of work at this time.

That's nice observation - thanks for pointing this out!

New thought: We can see what the colour will be of every EnterHorrorLand map coin by mousing over the relevant map sections on the full park map. Since each map coin corresponds to the same numbered book in the series, perhaps it'll be of significance (#2 and #3 are, anyway). Here's the list:

Map 1: Grey.
Map 2: Light blue.
Map 3: Light green.
Map 4: Dark orange.
Map 5: Purple.
Map 6: Light orange.
Map 7: Dark/Royal blue.
Map 8: Crimson / Dark red.
Map 9: Dark green.
Map 10: Pale brown.
Map 11: White/Beige.
Map 12: Grey.

Map 6 corresponds to the Mummy book, so it's probably meant to be sandy-coloured. Map 9 I reckon is meant to invoke dark-coloured trees, since it's another camp book (pun probably intended). But should any significance be read into the fact that the last book has the same colour coin as the first book? I hope the resolution of the series isn't going to be something so simplistic as "Slappy was behind it all creating a Slappyland slave empire" or something. Although it'd be better than it just being a giant Horror, sure.

One more thing on EnterHorrorLand: You can dimly see Map 12, and it appears to feature a maze and... a small, hard-to-identify building. A haunted house? Is this where the last villain resides? (I assume Stine's not stealing ideas from the Escape From Horrorland video game from the 90s, either.)

Another thing: You can access the Fear File for Map #3 on Borders if you just Google for EnterHorrorLand. It says that mirrors aren't allowed in the park. It could be a throwaway joke, or relevant to something in Book #3, but are there any other classic enemies vulnerable to mirrors? Let's Get Invisible involved mirrors, I think. An officer named Benson mentioned this, according to the file - I don't see an obvious joke in the name, so is that a reference to any past characters, or to a new one?

Thanks for sharing this idea!

Re mirrors - EscapeHorrorland also mentions "No Mirrors!" in 2nd chapter of their guide.

Now there's an idea - it's not a haunted house in Map 12, but a House of Mirrors!

EnterHorrorLand told me this morning that I had a new Yell Phone message, but it was just the same old one from Dr. Twisted.

I've read the books now, and a connection to "Let's Get Invisible!" cannot be denied. I bet it'll be the reissue for #10.

I am a member of Wikipedia and in the talk pages they wewre talking about how the coins don match up. Here is the discussion:

Horrorland Tokens
I just noticed something odd on my books: starting with "Creep From the Deep", the second halves of the tokens don't match up. By putting "Creep From the Deep" and "Deep Trouble" together, you get one phrase. But combined with "Monster Blood for Breakfast", it says something completely different. Here's the full list so far:

Revenge of the Living Dummy/Creep From the Deep: Find This Token Online
RotLiving Dummy/Night of the Living Dummy: Find This Token Online
CFtD/Deep Trouble: Beware of Hungry Sharks
CFtD/Monster Blood For Breakfast: Beware of the Black Lagoon
MBfB/Monster Blood: Panic at the Sight of Blood
MBfB/The Scream of the Haunted Mask: Panic at the Sight of Mirrors
TSotHM: Avoid the (second half not yet available)
Anyone else notice this yet? (Until next time... Anon e Mouse Jr.) 68.63.95.67 (talk) 19:34, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I haven't purchased any of the Classic books yet, but I might start when it starts getting slow between releases. I didn't even realise the Classics had half-tokens... It's a pretty cool feature, and now that I think about it, it makes sense; the HorrorLand messages about the Black Lagoon and mirrors would be complete non-sequiturs for the original books. I guess for TSotHM we'll end up with something like Mask Shop / Haunted Theatre. 86.136.156.205 (talk) 06:55, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey - in case you haven't heard, the new Goosebumps game was at E3. It's a "Goosebumps HorrorLand" game after all, for the PS2, Wii and DS. Apparently it might be largely a collection of minigames - not a patch on the old "Escape from HorrorLand," I imagine.

Ed. said...

yeah, I keep stumbling upon "Goosebumps: HorrorLand steals E3" headlines all the time lately :)

Re series of minigames - sounds plausible, especially given the fact what production of such minigames has been perfected on numerous predecessors (Shrek 3 comes to mind - their online minigames series was - stil is? - a huge success).

The fact that it's on DS makes me wonder if I should sacrifice myself and play it so that no-one else has to.
